In an effort to commemorate National Black AIDS Awarenesss Day, the Athens Alumni and the Zeta Psi Chapters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated present the second annual Project R.E.D: Reaching Towards Eradication, A MasquerAIDS Gala. The African-American commmunity has been disproportionately affected in recent years by the HIV/AIDS epidemics, especially amongst women and youth. Thus, adhering to the Physical and Mental Health thrust of our public service Sorority, the gala serves as a way to bring awareness as well as a refined focus on HIV/AIDS prevention. Members of the community are invited to partake in philanthropy for AIDS Athens, a community organization and UGA Heroes, a student organization in which all proceeds will benefit. The event will feature a catered dinner, speakers, and an exhibition to bring awareness to the cause through the arts. Please share with us in our hope for the cure and join us as we work towards the ultimate eradication of HIV/AIDS in our communities.
