Here's an opportunity to visit great gardens around the world without leaving Athens. This new series on the fourth Tuesday of the month will delight you. Gather at 6pm for culinary treats from Donderos' Kitchen, then vicariously travel to remarkable gardens and natural areas at 7pm. This event is held in the Gardenside Room of the Visitor Center. The Tuesday, May 28, 2013, program will send you to gardens of The New Zealand South Island Alps with Carol and Hugh Nourse. In 1996, Carol and Hugh spent three weeks guided by ecologists and botanists to Arthur Pass, trails and mountain habitats around Queenstown (side trip to Milford Sound), to the Flora Trek in the north part of South Island, and on to the Beeby Range and Rainbow Skifield. You can be sure that Carol and Hugh too outstanding photos of the native plants: Penwiper plant, Maori onion, vegetable sheep, and wild Spaniards.
