An introduction to the maps, aerial photography and remote sensed imagery, atlases, digital spatial data, and reference materials in the Map and Government Information Library. The new Map and Government Information Library was created by the merger of the former Map Library and the UGA Libraries' extensive government documents collection. The UGA Libraries serves as Georgia's regional depository for documents published by the Federal government as well as the official depository for documents published by the State of Georgia. The Map Library is a research-level cartographic collection whose substantial holdings include maps, aerial photography and remote sensed imagery, atlases, digital spatial data, and reference materials. Its mission is to provide bibliographic, physical, and intellectual access to cartographic information consistent with the mission of the University of Georgia Libraries, with a particular emphasis on cartographic information related to the State of Georgia. This tour is an introduction to these large and important collections, which serve the UGA community and researchers from around the world.
