Spend the day exploring Athens' colorful aviation past, busy present and promising future at "Athens Aviation: Then, Now, Next" at Ben Epps Airport on Saturday, March 23. Explore the airport with tours of the flight center and passenger terminal. Learn about Ben Epps, Georgia's first aviator, and meet Pat Epps, living aviation legend. The Experimental Aircraft Association will have a display of aircraft, and you'll be able to check out ARFF1, the airport's fire rescue truck! The event will also feature a talk by airport manager Tim Beggerly about the future of aviation in Athens, along with children's activities and more. This event is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are for either 10am or 12 noon at the airport, with two screenings of World's Smallest Airport: The True Story of the Thrasher Brothers Aerial Circus
