Nate Currin’s latest album took everything he had in his soul to create. He paused touring, and poured himself into his craft. The result is nothing short of breathtaking. “The Pilgrim album is like an old leather-bound book. You blow the dust off it and inside you reveal the kind of story you want to curl up next to a fire with and let your imagination run wild.” Join us at The World Famous as we proudly present this artist as he presents his craft that he has most certainly mastered. Nate Currin is an enigma: with each album he releases he evolves as a musician, a performer, and a storyteller. Catchy enough to be featured on MTV, Nate still posses a raw passion that is only felt after watching him perform live. Having played hundreds of shows across the US over the past 6 years, sharing the stage with everyone from Blues Traveler to Neon Trees, Nate has established a grassroots following that not only allows him to play established venues from coast to coast but plenty of house concerts along the way.
Nate’s third full-length studio album, The Pilgrim is set to hit retailers this summer – a follow up to 2011’s Goodnight California, which received strong reviews nationwide. “I strongly feel that Nate Currin is the most refreshing talent I’ve heard since I left radio in 2008” says Rhubarb Jones, a 3 time national disc jockey of the year and voted one of the most influential radio personalities of the last century, “He writes and performs with brilliance!” And it is that brilliance that will draw you in to Nate’s music, captivate you throughout his performance, and then leave you wanting more… more >>> John French is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Athens, Georgia. While he has written his music since childhood, he began seriously recording and performing in 2010. He discovered very quickly that the soft singer/songwriter aesthetic and sound wasn't quite enough to satisfy him - he wanted something with more energy and more life to it. While recording his first demo album "On the Face of It" he recruited the help of childhood friends and musicians Josh DeRamus (Drums) and Rebecca Cash (Keyboard, Vocals). After finishing the first set of recordings, the group began to write together more frequently and play in various cities in the South East. In 2012, the band included Kevin Justmann on bass and McKendrick Bearden on electric guitar, who had to fill the shoes of Wes Kent, the previous electric player. The band went into the studio to do their first full-length album together in February of 2012. After weeks of tracking and wrestling with songs, "What Wakes the Night" was completed. The album was released in Athens in November of 2012 and is currently undergoing national release. John French and the Bastilles' first album seeks to combine the honesty and lyricism of a singer/songwriter with the energy and power of everything from blues based rock to grunge. In a way, they have taken, quite literally, the dynamic of the Folk Rock genre to heart, attempting to encompass both aspects in their recordings and live performances. They are quiet and soft when they need to be quiet and soft and are loud when they need to be loud. Above all else, they seek to make music that is honest, heartfelt, and well though-out. more >>>
