Mark Gottfried provided an update on BeeJay Anya's condition Friday afternoon, and the good news is that the injury he suffered against Florida State didn't end up being serious. Anya has a bruise on his knee that's limiting him, but he was able to participate in practice despite it.
Gottfried called Anya "probable" for the UNC game tomorrow afternoon, though he is far from a sure thing to play at this point:
"That will be a wait-and-see for tomorrow afternoon," Gottfried said when asked for an update on Anya. "We just want to see how he starts to move around."
It'd be nice to have Anya and his wingspan available against another big team that rebounds well offensively. If State has to use Warren at the four more often, that'll be a recipe for some unpleasant rebounding experiences, and nobody wants those.
NC State has a week between UNC and its next game, so if not Saturday, I'm guessing Anya would be ready to go for the Miami trip the following weekend.
