Jimmy Clark took home the 10,000m run title as the Florida Gators maintained their lead over the rest of the Southeastern conference at the 2013 SEC Outdoor Championships on Friday. Clark's victory was the second for the Gators at these championships and it came in dramatic fashion as he took the lead in the last 200m and sprinted home to take the title in 29:44.54s.
The Gators' lead throughout the day shrunk down to just a few points, but it's holding steady in double digits for now. The Gators have a ten point lead over Arkansas with Georgia and Missouri a few points behind the Razorbacks for third and fourth.
The rest of the day (as today will be as well) for the Gators was largely spent on qualifying for the finals on Sunday. There were however a few end results and most of them were in the Gators' favor. Lorraine Graham finished fourth overall in the women's heptathlon with 5,239 points which was a personal best for her in that event.
In the women's hammer throw, Jayla Bostic finished fourth with a best distance of 59.09m to collect points. The rest of the results were qualification results that say Hugh Graham Jr. qualify for the 200m finals with a time of 21.15s, Sean Obinwa finish second in his heat of the 800m and Ugonna Ndu win her heat in the 400m hurdles.
