2017 UGA football schedule announced

Athens, Ga --- The University of Georgia and its football fans can now start planning those tailgates and road trips for the fall of 2017, as the Southeastern Conference released next season's football schedule for all teams on Tuesday night.

With the announcement one significant change in the usual weekly matchups Bulldog fans are accustomed to. The annual meeting against the South Carolina Gamecocks - usually an early season game - will take place in November for the first time since the 1980 season.

Also for the first time since the 1980 season, Georgia will face Notre Dame, which it beat in the 1981 Sugar Bowl to claim its latest National Championship. That game we have known about for several years now, and will take place in South Ben, Indiana on September 9th.

The rest of the 2017 football schedule is as follows:

Sept. 2    APPALACHIAN STATE
Sept. 9  at Notre Dame
Sept. 16  SAMFORD
Sept. 23  MISSISSIPPI STATE
