Gov Kemp to help with Athens ribbon cutting

Governor Brian Kemp and Athens Mayor Kelly Girtz are among those scheduled to take part in today’s ribbon cutting, a ceremonial start of work on the recently announced expansion of the ByoPlanet facility on Old Monroe Road in Athens. The festivities are set for just before 11 o’clock this morning. ByoPlanet, a leading producer of electrostatic spray technology, says its planned expansion will add another 250 jobs to the Athens economy.

Leadership for ByoPlanet® International, a leading producer of electrostatic spray technology based on research originally conducted at the University of Georgia, will celebrate the expansion of their Athens manufacturing operations with a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, January 19 at 10:55 a.m., alongside Governor Brian P. Kemp, Georgia Department of Economic Development Commissioner Pat Wilson, Athens-Clarke County Mayor Kelly Girtz, and other officials.

In December 2020, Governor Kemp announced ByoPlanet’s investment of nearly $7 million in expanding its Georgia manufacturing operations, creating 250 jobs in Athens-Clarke County.
