Gainesville seeks volunteers for Meals on Wheels program

The City of Gainesville is recruiting volunteers for Gainesville’s Meals on Wheels program. The City says it serves more than 500 meals Mondays through Fridays. Those who might want to help out can get information on the City of Gainesville website.

From the City of Gainesville website…

Meals on Wheels, a community program that assists seniors, is seeking volunteers for meal delivery. Approximately 500 seniors receive lunches delivered by friendly volunteers each Monday through Friday. For some seniors, this daily visit may be the only social interaction they have during the day. There is also a Pets Program for furry companions.

How to become a volunteer:

· We offer a twice monthly orientation via zoom that is open to the public on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 2 p.m. each month. Zoom information can be found on the Meals on Wheels page.

· Or fill out this volunteer form and we will have someone from the Meals on Wheels program contact you.
