The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 43,000 heated blankets.
The queen-sized blankets made by Sunbeam can overheat and pose a fire or burn hazard, according to the CPSC.
They have a model number of 32810027 which can be found with the Sunbeam logo on the blanket’s care label.
The blankets have detachable controllers and were sold in a variety of colors:
- Beige
- Ivory
- Light green
- Light blue
- Burgundy
- Dark gray
- Light gray
- Gray violet
Owners of the blanket are being told to stop using them, unplug them and contact Star Elite for a full refund, according to the CPSC.
You’ll be instructed to destroy the blanket by cutting the power cord at the plug, marking an “X” with a permanent marker and sending the company a photo of the damaged blanket. You’ll also need to complete a recall registration form found here.
