The Clarke County School Board says Natosha Harris will be the next principal at Alps Road Elementary School. Harris comes to Athens from Wisconsin, where she worked as a school administrator in Milwaukee. Her hiring leaves two principal’s offices still to be filled, one at Fowler Drive Elementary School and the other at Hilsman Middle School.

“Ms. Harris’ extensive background in the field of education is the perfect fit for Alps Road Elementary School and the Clarke County School District,” said Demond Means, Superintendent of Clarke County Schools. “She brings a wealth of experience that will serve the children and families of Alps Road Elementary well.”

Ms. Harris was most recently a principal for Milwaukee Public Schools. Previously, she was Director of School Climate and Student Support and also served as Associate Principal in the Racine Unified School District. An educator since 2006, Ms. Harris began her career as an English teacher and was a literacy coach for a time. She has a masters of education in Educational Leadership from National Louis University and bachelors degrees in Business and Management and Psychology from Alverno College.
