We are still waiting for the exact word on what caused the Friday night fire that caused minor damage to the University of Georgia’s Tate Student Center: there is speculation the blaze might have been sparked by fireworks from the UGA’s coronavirus-delayed spring commencement exercises. There were no injuries in the fire.

The case of an Athens man facing a murder charge heads to a grand jury: 29 year-old Joseph Baughns is accused in the July shooting of 34 year-old Jarred Sanders. The Gainesville man was gunned down in Bethel Midtown Village.
