Former Georgia women’s basketball player Katie Abrahamson-Henderson has been hired as the Lady Bulldogs’' head coach, replacing Joni Taylor who left for Texas A&M.

Abrahamson-Henderson has led Central Florida to each of the past three NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournaments, including a second-round appearance this year. She has coached the Knights to a 131-49 record over the past six seasons.

Prior to USC, Abrahamson-Henderson was head coach at Albany, guiding the Great Danes to five NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournaments in the six years she coached that program.

The hiring of “Coach Abe” continues a pattern from second-year athletic director Josh Brooks of hiring coaches with proven track records and past success at the national level.
